Tipperary Hospital Wards Announce Visiting Restrictions Due To COVID Outbreak

Tipperary University Hospital (TippUH) in Clonmel is advising that visiting restrictions will apply to four wards from tomorrow, July 4th:

  • Medical 1
  • Medical 2A
  • Medical 2B, and
  • Medical 3

The visiting restrictions are due to infectious outbreaks of Covid.

Exceptions will be facilitated by the Clinical Nurse Manager on the ward in situations involving End of Life Patients and Critically ill patients.

Public visiting to other wards at TippUH is permitted between 2pm – 4pm and 6.30pm – 8.30pm. No visiting is allowed outside of these hours unless in exceptional circumstances by prior arrangement with the ward/department manager. The hospital can be contacted by telephone at 052 617 7000.

Hospital management and staff are apologising in advance for any inconvenience caused to patients and visitors and add that the restrictions are undertaken to protect vulnerable patients and limit the spread of infection.
