A Specialist Contractor is due in Tipperary town today to examine the Traffic Lights at the junction of Main Street(N24) and Bridge and Davis Street.
The lights were out of order a number of times yesterday and there have been intermittent outages at other times in recent weeks.
A female pedestrian was injured in a collision involving a car at the junction on June 17th when the lights were also out of order. In a statement to Tipp Mid West Radio today Tipperary County Council Road Engineers say that the system received a full reboot yesterday evening in advance of the specialist contractor’s visit today.
When lights fail drivers are required to approach the junction with extra care and only proceed if safe to do so according to the Council statement. Tipperary County Council can be contacted by calling 0818 06 5000 during office hours to report an outage or on 0818 06 5003 for issues with the traffic lights outside of normal office hours.
