Tipp Mid West Are Looking For Volunteers For Their Sports Shows

Tipp Mid-West Radio is looking for new volunteers to be part of our sports shows.

Do you have a great knowledge of a particular local sport? Do you enjoy all sports? Have you a great speaking voice? If so we want to hear from you.

We currently have two sports shows (Saturday 10:30-12 noon and Monday (6:10-7pm) and one 30 minute dedicated sports results show (Sunday 6:30-7pm)

The successful applicants will be expected to:

To provide pre and post-match analysis on local games on their chosen sport to listeners.
To gather relevant information such as scores from local games.
Be available to present / anchor a sports show, when required. This would entail lining-up guests (from our panel) to give their analysis and to plan the show.
Be comfortable using studio equipment (please note full studio training will be provided)
To be able to engage with listeners and build a relationship with them.

This role requires a number of personal attributes including:
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to work under own initiative and be committed to the role.

In your email tell us why you’d like to become a volunteer, and the type of sport you’re most into and ideally attach a radio demo (2-3 minutes in duration) – this should showcase your voice and sporting knowledge.

Once you send in an email, what’s the next step?
Once we get through all the emails we’ll make contact with you if we feel you’re the right person for the role.

The next step will be for you to visit the radio station for a chat and to organise a date/time to learn the studio desk, this process will happen over a number of weeks.

People will be fully trained before their first live broadcast.

Over 70% of Tipp Mid West Radio shows are presented by volunteers and they play a vital role in ensuring the radio station continues to inform and entertain our listeners.

The community radio station broadcasts on 104.8, 106.7FM and online at tippmidwestradio.com to Tipp Town, Cashel and surrounding areas.
