The Dualla Together Community Group has launched a Go Fund Me  to raise €15,000 as part of a campaign to object to proposals for a large solar farm adjacent to the village. The Group was established with the core mission to “preserve our community for future generations.” To date the fund has raised over €3,700 of it’s target.  The proposed 129 hectare solar complex has sparked significant concern within the community as the group wants to protect the environment and heritage of Dualla village.

The groups held a well attended community meeting on Thursday June 27th and expects to hire a team of professional experts including – Hydrologists- Ecologists- Archaeologists- Legal experts and Planners to assist with it’s campaign. At present Tipperary County Council has requested significant further information from the applicant Power Renewable Energy before it can make a decision.  An Bord Pleanála is most likely to have the final say on the project as the Council’s decision is likely to be appealed.
