RTE Toy Show Appeal To Benefit Two Tipperary Based Organizations

Two Tipperary based organisations are to benefit from the RTE Toy show appeal. In total the fund is to distribute €3.6M in 122 grants to benefit 1.1million children across Ireland. The Millennium Family Resource Centre Play Therapy Service in Glengoole is allocated €15,000 while Barnardos in county Tipperary is allocated €40,000.  Barnardos’ Wellbeing programme teaches children and adults a range of body-based techniques and self-regulating skills to support positive mental health and resilience.
The RTÉ Toy Show Appeal began in 2020, and was inspired by the story of Saoirse Ruane from Kiltullagh Co. Galway who was dealing with a cancer diagnosis at the time.  Saoirse sadly passed away in March of this year, and RTÉ Director General Kevin Backhurst says Saoirse’s enduring legacy will be The Toy Show Appeal.
Five charities are to receive transformative grants of €120,000 each – these are the Offaly Traveller Movement, Crosscare, Community Law & Mediation, Children at Risk in Ireland and Baboró International Arts Festival for Children.
