County Tipperary is to host a total of 8 different blood donation clinics up to July 4th as the service is under pressure to meet demand for blood products from hospitals and to recruit 15,000 new blood donors to keep pace with demand.
Hospital demand for blood has increased by 6% compared to this time last year.
This time of year presents additional challenges for Blood Donation Clinics, as many people are on holiday and it’s also a busy period for those in the agricultural sector.
