Tipperary Roads Policing Unit is being praised for taking uninsured drivers off the road.

The Unit seized a car in the Nenagh area yesterday as it was found to be uninsured. The car drew Garda attention as the Unit were carrying out speed compliance checks in the Nenagh/Killaloe area and detected the car travelling at 85km/hr in a 50km zone.  Using the Garda Mobility App it was established that the car was uninsured.  The car was seized and the driver will now face a future court date.

Under changes to data sharing regulations Garda now have real time access to Driver Licence,  NCT and insurance details at the roadside by using the Mobility App.
