Gardaí in Newport are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman at a residence in the town.
The woman, aged in her 40s, was discovered deceased at a residence in Newport last evening.
A post-mortem is expected to take place later today at University Hospital Limerick; the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
The Coroner has been notified.
Garda say their investigations are ongoing.
