Tipperary Roads Policing Unit patrolling in Thurles intercepted a car after the Garda Mobility App indicated that the vehicle did not have valid insurance. As Gardaí investigated the driver they established that the driver was a learner driver, driving unaccompanied with no L-Plates displayed.
The driver was also found to be driving on a terminated Insurance Policy. The vehicle was seized and the driver will now face a court appearance. Gardaí now have access to real-time data at the roadside in respect of insurance, NCT and Driver Licence details.
