171

The community in Golden, near Cashel, is rallying to support the family of local man Kevin Ivers, a father of two who died in a traffic accident in Perth, Australia on Sunday. The Golden community is extending condolences to the Ivers family from Pearce Park and to Mr Ivers’ Fiancée Rhyllie and children. The death has caused shock in the tight knit village. Kevin Ivers is a past pupil of the local Golden Primary School and of Cashel Community School.

Mr Ivers, parents Richie and Ann, brothers Paddy and David sisters Donna and Aoife, grandmother Bridget, brother in law Michael sister in law Sheila and Emma, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, relatives and his many friends in Australia and Golden are in the thoughts and prayers of the community. There are strong links between Golden and the Perth area in Australia with several local people living in Perth. Some members of the family are travelling to Perth today with others to follow in the coming days. Kevin and two of his siblings were living in Australia and Kevin operated a business “Golden Plant Hire” in the name of his native village.

A Go Fund Me to help the family to travel to Australia and support the family has been set up by Stephanie Lawrence with the family’s consent.

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs have been informed of the death and are offering Consular assistance to Kevin’s fiancée Rhyllie and his sons aged 3 and 5.
