Joint Statement Issued By Tipperary Representatives Regarding Dundrum House Hotel

Tipperary Sinn Fein TD Martin Browne and local Councillors Anne Marie Ryan and Tony Black have issued a joint statement on the situation in Dundrum House Hotel and say the public and their elected representatives  are being neglected as no information was given in advance about plans for asylum seeker accommodation in Dundrum House Hotel and as of yesterday no response has been received to questions put to the Department with responsibility for Integration last week.

Deputy Browne says this is a slap in the face for the local community who are entitled to engagement from the Department’s Community Engagement Team.

Cllr Tony Black says the government has failed the people of Tipperary and Ireland with their lack of a coherent policy around immigration. Cllr Anne Marie Ryan adds that she has twice visited the protest site at the hotel gate and committed to working on behalf of the people in Dundrum to keep them informed and their community represented.
