As a start date for major road works in Tipperary Town comes closer local residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to engage with the scheme website and to join the WhatsApp Group for updates. Work on a new watermains is now expected to start on the N74/Cashel Road on the week ending June 15th although the start date has yet to be finalised.
The Council is currently in discussions with the Contractor, Glas Civil Engineering on the Traffic Management Plan to be adopted in respect of works on the N74 and agreement is expected shortly. Details of traffic management arrangements will be conveyed to the public and stakeholders via the scheme website N74Tipperarytown.ie, a leaflet drop, the WhatsApp group and also messaging on the advance warning signs currently in operation on the approaches to the town, all in advance of the works commencing on the N74.
The Council is also asking for engagement with the Contractor, Glas Civil Engineering, and the Council on an ongoing basis as the scheme progresses to provide feedback and address any issues on the operation of Traffic Management arrangements. The project is expected to cost over €5M, extends over 1200m between the Danny Ryan Music Shop and the town limits on the Cashel Road and is forecasted to take 18 months for completion with crews working Monday to Saturday inclusive
