Tipperary County Council has published a video record of the Civic Reception afforded to the members of North and South Tipperary Hospice Groups.
The event was held in the Bru Boru Centre in Cashel on May 25th and the proposal for the reception came from the outgoing Cathaoirleach, Cllr Ger Darcy.
Anne Cuffe, South Tipperary Hospice and Paddy Cadell, North Tipperary were both presented with framed copies of the citation to mark the occasion. The event saw the work of founders, staff, volunteers and fundraising celebrated alongside patients and survivors sharing their experiences.
The two organisations say they are now at a time of transition and intend to work closely to optimise the services they provide particularly in the area of support centres and the Volunteer Driver programme to take patients to their treatment appointments.. The HSE now funds the salary of nurses working in the service but fundraising by volunteers and families across the county remains vital to the work of both groups.
The video can now be viewed on the Council website at this link here.
