Dundrum House Hotel is to have an additional designation as a new IP Emergency Accommodation Centre.
Tipperary County Council informed councillors yesterday evening that part of the Hotel Complex will be used to accommodate up to 80 International Protection Applicants. The Council says that the Department of Children Youth, Equality, Disability and Integration has notified the council that the location is to be used for families (with no adult males,) and also for females and female couples. Since the early days of the war in Ukraine, refugees from that country have also been accommodated at Dundrum House Hotel.
Tipperary county council issued an email to councillors at 5.20pm yesterday informing them of the change and that the building is to be made available from today Wednesday 29th May 2024.
