A major road project that also involves water, power lines, sewage and telecoms upgrades is to start in Tipperary town on Monday June 10th.
Contractors have been on site for almost a month now completing some investigation works on the N74 Cashel Road and works to the rear of Sean Allen Terrace.
Glas Civil Engineering, Clonmel the main contractor say the current plan is for the investigation trenching on the road to continue later this week and next week and the major work to start on Monday the 10th of June with the installation of the new water main.
The company says all of these works will be completed under a traffic light system at the moment, as the company awaits approval of some alternative Traffic Management proposals.
The company has set up a dedicated website at www.N74tipperarytown.ie to provide information about the project and Traffic Management Plan to the wider public and residents that may be effected by diversions.
The overall project is expected to take 18 months to complete and extends from the town limits on the Cashel side of Tipperary town to Danny Ryan’s Music Shop on Main Street.
