Tipperary County Council is reminding land owners that the closing date to request a change of zoning for land subject to the Residential Zoned Land Tax is May 31st.
The Government deferred the introduction of the tax from 2024 to 2025 in last Autumn’s budget.
The tax is intended to bring land zoned and serviced for residential purposes into use to boost housing supply.
The annual tax is to be charged at a rate of 3% of the land value.
The council has posted the maps showing lands liable for the tax and details of how to make a submission on the council website.
The deadline for making submissions requesting land to be included or excluded from the annual tax is now closed.
