Overnight restrictions are being put in place in Tipperary town to ensure regular day time supply can be maintained for customers.
The water pressure will be reduced each evening from 10pm to 5am to allow local reservoir levels to recharge.
The restrictions are due to increased flows as a result of leaks which is causing water in the reservoir to fall to unsustainable levels.
Leak Detection and Repair crews are working in the town to identify and repair the leaks. Once the leakage is reduced, normal water pressure will be restored.
Some customers at higher elevations may experience a temporary loss of supply during the night.
Uisce Éireann’s Colin Cunningham said: “We understand the inconvenience that restrictions cause and we would like to thank customers for their patience. We are working to reduce the leakage and restore normal pressure as quickly as possible. Customers can help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and postponing using dishwashers and washing machines where possible during the period of the restrictions.”
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For updates on local water supply issues, please visit the Water Supply Updates section of www.water.ie.
