Tipperary town library will today host a drop in session for the members of the community to meet with staff from the Planning Office of Tipperary County Council.
A new Local Area Development Plan for the town is to be drawn up in the coming months with the intention of formally adopting the plan next year to run until 2031.
The new local area plan which will set out the land use strategy for the town to ensure the town can grow, support employment and homes and can do so sustainably and successfully. It will also be used to support applications for funding from Central Government and as a guide when deciding planning applications.
The council has issued a briefing document about the issues to be considered – these can be viewed online at this link here or at the Council office on Rosanna Road or in Tipperary library until June 4th.
The drop-in public information session today will be held at Tipperary town Library in the Excel Centre from 3-7pm.
Submissions which can be made free of charge must be made by June 4th. These will be used to create a draft plan to be published in the Autumn and following further review the Local Area Plan will be formally adopted in 2025 to run until 2031.
