Tipp LCDC Allocated Almost €100K To Support Community Work

Tipperary Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) is to receive an allocation of €97,728.66.

The funding is to allow for additional staff to support the delivery of community work in the county.

Tipperary LCDC is chaired by Owen Wolahan and is made of up of 19 members including Councillors, Public Participation Network Representatives and members of the North and South Tipperary Leader Company’s management teams.

The Department of Rural and Community Development allocated a total of €2.9M funds to all 31 councils across the country to provide for Additional Staff Resources to deliver community work.

The allocation of additional funding arises from a comprehensive review of the work of the LCDCs.

Minister Joe O’Brien says the Department of Rural and Community Development has a clear mission to promote rural and community development and to support vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities throughout Ireland.
