WEEE Ireland is to hold a waste collection day at ALDI in Tipperary town tomorrow (Thursday April 25th). The agency is responsible for promoting the recycling and safe disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. This includes any device that has a plug or a battery and is at the end of its useful life. It includes items such as washing machines, fridges, TVs, computers, phones, lighting fixtures or irons.
The collection day at ALDI Tipperary town will run from 10am to 4pm. This is a free service and no appointment is necessary. The materials collected will be recycled to the greatest extent possible and it is also hoped that such collection days might reduce fly tipping and the illegal disposal of waste.
Stores that sell electric and electronic goods are obliged to offer a free disposal service.
