A long standing business on Friar Street in Cashel has ceased trading. The very popular Halls Daybreak store is closed after trading for 73 years as the owner retires.
Eamon Hall has operated the store for nearly 40 years – his mother Sheila O’Sullivan began the business in 1951.
Mr Hall says the future of the premises is uncertain for now as the family continues to reside overhead. The closure involved a tribute to a former employee Noeleen Doyle who gave many years of dedicated service to the store – Ms Doyle died in February 2024. To mark the closure a specially commissioned once-off wine bottle was created and a customer appreciation day was held last week. The next generation of the Hall family, three daughters, all have careers outside of the family retail business.
