Revenue Officersintercepted parcels containing illegal cigarettes intended for addresses in Tipperary, Kilkenny and Northern Ireland and herbal cannabis intended for addresses in Limerick and 5 other counties.
In total Revenue officers seized 45.4 kgs of herbal cannabis and 14,000 cigarettes with a combined estimated value of over €920,000.
The discoveries this week were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs.
The parcels of herbal cannabis originated from the USA, Spain, Canada and Thailand while the illegal cigarettes originated in Poland and China.
Revenue says it’s investigation is ongoing.
