Details For Annual Easter Commemoration In St Michael’s Cemetery Revealed

The Third Tipperary Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee  has released details of the Annual  Easter Commemoration to be held at the Republican Plot in St. Michaels Cemetery, Tipperary Town on Easter Sunday March 31st .

The event will commence at 2pm.

Committee chairperson Cllr Pat English will deliver a welcome address, two wreaths are to be laid – the first by Pat English on behalf of the committee and the second by Dermot Riordan on behalf of the Riordan family – relatives of Volunteer Seán Riordan.

Seán Riordan was from the Donohill area of West Tipperary and died at Ballingarry on December 12th 1922. 

The ceremony also includes a decade of the rosary as Gaeilge by Nuala Gleeson, a reading of the 1916 Proclamation by Committee PRO Kevin O’Reilly.

The Oration will be given by Local Historian Robert O’Keeffe and all are welcome to attend.
