Tipperary Town St Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at 11am this morning (March 16th).
The Tipperary parade will be led by the CJ Kickham band and conclude with a first ever appearance in Tipperary town by the Marching Mizzous, a 300 plus strong band with Dancers and Twirlers from Missouri University.
The US band features the song “It’s a long way to Tipperary” in their regular performances at College Athletic events and asked to march in Tipperary.
Cara Darmody, from Ardfinnan is the Special Guest of the Tipperary parade – the teenage disability campaigner will judge the floats in this year’s parade.
DJ Francis will entertain the crowds as they gather to watch the parade with Ms Dee Morrissey the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.
The organisers are advising that no parking is available on the Main Street in Tipperary town from 9am until 2.30pm.
Space is reserved close to the Kickham Statue for anyone using a wheelchair.
Both bands will combine to deliver a special performance as the finale for the event.
The US band will then March to the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre
