Garda report an increase in Property Crime in County Tipperary for the three month period November 2023 to the end of January 2024 compared to the same period a year ago.
Property Crime includes all robbery, burglary and theft offenses. The data was presented to the Tipperary Joint Policing Committee meeting last week. This type of crime is up 22% with 450 incidents recording during the three month period for the Tipperary Division.
Garda are also reporting a drop in crime solving data with detections down by 16% to 172 for the period.
The five Tipperary Districts all report increases – Cahir reported an increase of 109% to 67 incidents, Thurles an increase of 32% to 91 incidents, Tipperary town district is up 19% to 74 incidents , Nenagh is up 10% to 89 such crimes while Clonmel showed the lowest increase at 2% which translates into 129 reported property thefts in the district for the three month period.
