Tipperary town Creative Places is inviting members of the public to take part in preparations for the 2024 St Patrick’s Day Parade. This year’s Parade is to take place on Saturday March 16th commencing at 11am to coincide with a visit by the Marching Mizzous, a 300 strong band from the University of Missouri. The Band’s feature march is set to the well known song It’s a Long Way to Tipperary and they asked if they could march in Tipperary town on March 16th.
Tipperary Creative Places is running a workshop to help groups to get ready to parade on Saturday 9 March, from 2 – 5pm. The workshop will feature artist Mags Rudnicka leading the creation of Masks and Wigs while artist Nathalie el Baba will assist with parade banners that celebrate belonging in Tipperary town.
These workshop activities are free and open to people of all ages and interests. All children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The Workshop will be held in the Task Force Office on Bridge Street
To take part in the Parade people need to be available on Saturday 16 March from 10.30am to 12.30pm approximately. Musician Andy Spearpoint will also take part in the parade providing gongs, chimes and drums to bang and make a “joyful noise”.
