Forge Players Opens Three Night Run At Excel Last Night

1777

The Forge Players opened a three night run at the Tipperary Excel last night with a superb production of Sean O’Casey’s The Plough and the Stars.

The cast of 17 enjoyed a well-deserved standing ovation at the conclusion of the show.  Michael O’Donoghue directed the play, set in 1916 Dublin, as the Easter Rising explodes across the city.

Mr O’Donoghue says O’Casey deserves credit for writing the play which was first performed in the Abbey Theatre in 1926 – just 10 years after The Rising.

The show will run tonight and again on Saturday night with an 8pm curtain.  Tickets can be booked at the Excel Centre by telephoning 062 80520 or online at this link here.
