Garda in Nenagh station are continuing to investigate the circumstances of last evening’s fatal two car road traffic collision in Rearcross.
A fifteen-year-old passenger in one of the cars died in the collision.
It is understood that the young girl lived in the Holycross area having just recently moved from Thurles.
The girl attended Coláiste Mhuire in Thurles and was in third year.
The students and staff in the school are said to be in shock at the news of the young girl’s sudden death.
Three other occupants in the car, two females and a male, and the driver and sole occupant of the second car were taken to University Hospital Limerick for assessment of their injuries.
Garda say the road in Rearcross remains closed as of now as a Forensic examination of the scene is yet to be completed.
Twenty five people have lost their lives on Irish roads so far this year.
