A Go Fund Me Campaign has been launched by Kilbehenny Community Centre to fund a home for a Cian Murtagh.
The campaign hopes to raise €200,000 for the young man who was the subject of a missing person alert in recent weeks.
The fundraiser shares that Cian is a 30 year old young man who has never had a home. He grew up in State care from an early age with no family of his own.
After leaving State care, he moved around Ireland for many years homeless and sleeping on the streets.
Even though he was living in such difficult conditions he never developed addiction problems.
While working he was unable to secure accommodation and according to the fundraiser with this goal becoming more and more difficult to achieve, Cian gave up all hope and went to die alone in a secluded area of Galtee Woods.
He was found on Sunday in a severely malnourished state and is now recovering in Hospital.
Kilbehenny Community Centre says it wants to help Cian as much as possible after learning of his situation.
To date almost €3,000 has been donated towards a target of €200,000. The fundraiser is titled “Finding a home for Cian” on the Go Fund Me Platform at this link HERE.
Kilbehenny village is located on the R639 Regional road on the borders of counties Limerick, Tipperary and Cork.
