Fine Gael’s Declan Burgess has invited Justice Minister Helen McEntee to visit Cashel town to view the great work that has now commenced on renovating and upgrading the Cashel Garda Station.
Councillor Burgess based in the town recently met with the Minister at the Fine Gael Conference in Maynooth, where he discussed active policing for the Tipperary South engagement area.
Cllr Burgess issued the invitation as the Cathaoirleach of the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District and adds that “Cashel is a growing town and has an enormous number of international visitors coming to the town annually and that it is important to discuss what the future of policing looks like in the town.
Cllr Burgess wants a return to a full time Garda Station for Cashel when the renovations to the station on Hogan Square are completed.
During the refurbishment period, this Garda public office on Friar Street(in former Council Motor Tax Office) is operating on Monday 1.30pm-4pm, Wednesday 1.30pm-4pm and Friday 8am-1pm.
