The Sean Treacy Swimming pool is offering support to Emly based Claire O’Connell as she prepares for the World Masters Swimming championships in Doha in February.
Ms O’Connell, who holds the Irish Master Records in the 50m and 100m breaststroke won 6 Gold Medals at the 2023 European Masters Games in Finland, was presented with a one year free membership by pool manager Brendan O’Dwyer to assist with training expenses.
The world Masters Championships is a self funded event and Ms O’Connell is appreciative of any sponsorship.
Claire, originally from Kerry, has been a member of Sean Treacy Swimming Pool for many years and trains 5-6 times a week in preparation for competitions.
She swims with the Kingdom Master Swimming Club in Tralee, Co Kerry and has previously represented Ireland at Minor and Masters level.
