Provisional plans are being made for a large-scale search of the Bansha Woods on Saturday in respect of a missing man. Cian Murtagh, aged 30, originally from Meath but living in Cork recently, was last seen in Bansha on Monday January 8th.
Jade Millar, who operates a soup run in Cork twice a week says the young man has no family support as he grew up in State care.
Mr Murtagh is understood to be from the Dunboyne area of Meath and was in care homes before going to Carlow IT, where studied Humanities for two years before dropping out of college.
Over the last three years he has had periods of employment, accommodation and periods of homelessness. Ms Millar says that the young man has not been eating well in recent weeks and may be in poor health.
Ms Millar is provisionally asking people to meet in Bansha at 9am but is hoping that someone may come forward that has seen Cian since Monday or that the Garda will have a breakthrough.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cahir Garda station on 052 7225630 or Jade Millar on 087 608 2592.
Cian is approximately 6 foot in height and when last seen was wearing blue jeans, black work boots and a black “Regatta” jacket.
