Cashel based Councillor Declan Burgess is welcoming progress towards additional lighting on the Kiln in Cashel – the area extends from the rear of Bru Ború continuing up to the Rockhouse on Ladyswell Street.
Councillor Burgess originally raised this issue back in November 2019 and tabled a motion at a previous Municipal District meeting.
Tipperary County Council has now commenced movement to install the necessary public infrastructure on the Kiln.
It is envisaged that public lighting will be installed by contractors on the Kiln in mid January 2024.
Cllr Burgess says the Kiln is a frequently used and very popular walking route used by locals on a regular basis and with the darker evenings such lights are vital for public health and safety.
