The Fianna Fáil party has established a new Comhairle Dáil Cheantar(CDC) for South Tipperary and it held it’s Inaugural Annual General Meeting in Brú Ború, Cashel, on Thursday, December 14th.
Jackie Cahill T.D. welcomed members from across South Tipperary and proceeded with the election of the new officer board, six Honorary Presidents were also elected – Mattie Finnerty, Labhrás Ó Murchú, Dr. Martin Mansergh, Josie O’Dwyer, Michael Lonergan, and Susan Meagher.
The party has almost completed the selection of candidates for the upcoming 2024 Local Elections to be held in June. Cllr. Imelda Goldsboro, Ballingarry and a member of Carrick on Suir Municipal District is set to seek the party nomination to contest the next General Election in the reformed South Tipperary Constituency which will elect 3 TDs.
The officers elected for the South Tipperary Fianna Fáil CDC are John Flynn as Chairperson, Fiona Hennessey as Vice-Chair, Barbara Keating as Honorary Secretary, Aodán Wrenn as Assistant Secretary 1, Majella Walsh as Assistant Secretary 2, Seamus Troy as Honorary Treasurer 1, John Hartnett as Honorary Treasurer 2, Paudie Taylor as P.R.O., Collette Roche as Membership Officer, and Jacqui Finnan as Women’s Officer.
Fianna Fáil have held conventions in all Local Electoral Areas across the county with the following candidates confirmed for the 2024 Local Elections:

Cashel-Tipperary LEA: Cllr. Roger Kennedy
Clonmel: Cllr. Siobhan Ambrose
Carrick-on-Suir LEA: Cllr. Kieran Bourke & Cllr. Imelda Goldsboro
Thurles LEA : Kay Cahill Skehan & Cllr. Seán Ryan
Roscrea-Templemore LEA: Deirdre Ryan & Cllr. Michael Smith
Newport LEA: Cllr. John Carroll & James Collins
Nenagh LEA: Ryan O’Meara
It is understood that Fianna Fáil Party headquarters will be looking into adding an extra candidate in both Cashel-Tipperary LEA and Clonmel LEA in the new year.
