Tipperary Sinn Féin TD Martin Browne is urging motorists to exercise additional caution due to the dangers posed by deer crossing certain stretches of road.
Deputy Browne says there have been a number of reports from motorists of near misses with deer on the Wood Road (R655) which links Clonmel to Knocklofty crossing from Kilnamack Wood to the banks of the River Suir.
Similar reports have been made in the Russellstown and Kilmacomma areas approaching Clonmel from Ballymacarbry on the R671 according to Deputy Browne.
There were also reports on deer on the roads in the Dundrum area earlier this year.
The matter has also been raised with Tipperary and Waterford County Councils.
The Councils have been asked to consider installing further signage where appropriate on these routes to advise motorists of deer being present in the area.
