Plans for a new Business Park in Tipperary Town took a further step forward today when Councillors agreed to allow a material amendment of the Local Development Plan to allow for planning permission to be granted for the application relating to a site on the Bansha Road.
The project, funded by the private sector, is being led by Fitzgerald Partnerships and final planning is expected to be approved by the end of the year. It is likely that the project which involves the construction of three buildings and the partial demolition of a former restaurant will go to tender next year and that construction work will start in 2024.
Five light industrial units are to be constructed in one block, while two other standalone industrial units are also planned for the location. The Business Park is expected to attract business operators into the town and be a support to local employment. Tipperary Revitalisation Taskforce is welcoming the development and says there is a demand for such a facility in the town.
