Tipperary Fire Service Seeking To Recruit Firefighters For The Retained Fire Service

Tipperary Fire service is seeking to recruit firefighters for the Retained Fire service in the county. The Council operates 12 stations across county Tipperary. The application closing date is 2pm on Wednesday November 29th  and depending on the number of applications received shortlisting of candidates may be necessary.  Shortlisting will be based on the information submitted in the candidate’s application form. In addition, the council is highlighting that Panels may be created from which vacancies arising during the lifetime of these panels will be filled.

The role of Retained Firefighter is to be reformed as part of an agreement reached between the Firefighters and the Local Government Management Agency earlier this year. A significant improvement in pay and working conditions is to be delivered in the coming months with upwards of 400 new positions to be created to provide Retained Firefighters with an improved work/life balance.Garda Vetting will apply to these positions – full details are available at this link here.
