The South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) is advising walkers to carry or wear a head torch if going out walking.
The call comes after an experienced walker was rescued from Slievenamon on Saturday.
The 70-year-old woman is said to have become disorientated due to dense fog during her hike.
A call to SEMRA was made at 4.37pm. The woman was located by a volunteer aided by a rescue dog.
The woman was uninjured and all persons were off the slopes of Slievenamon by 7.45pm.
The SEMRA service covers Slievenamon, the Galtees, the Comeraghs, the Knockmealdowns, the Ballyhouras, Slieve Bloom and the Blackstairs mountains.
The volunteer-led service is headquartered at Heywood Road in Clonmel alongside the Tipperary Fire Service headquarters.
