Voters in county Tipperary are being encouraged to ensure they are registered on the Electoral Register.
The Government has launched a national awareness campaign to call on everyone to go to checktheregister.ie and make sure they are correctly registered to vote. The campaign aims to support the ongoing work of local authorities who are engaging with their communities to update the electoral register.
Chief Executive Tipperary County Council Joe Mac Grath says “The European and Local elections are scheduled to take place in June 2024 with over 125,000 individuals currently registered to vote in Tipperary. Voters can play their part in creating an accurate register by verifying and updating their information, for example, by adding their Personal Public Service Number (PPSN), Date of Birth and Eircode which will help eliminate any outdated or incorrect entries on the Register”
Families are encouraged to contact the council if a person is deceased or has emigrated. There is a form available on checktheregister.ie that allows any person to notify their local authorities if a change is needed on the electoral register.”
