The Byrnes from Tipperary Town are through to the Quarter Finals of Ireland’s Fittest Family.
Tommy, Aoife, Tony and Cathal were up against the Kearns, Peters and Murrays.
The local family secured first place in the first course called Double Trouble, which involved a four-way race over a series of gruelling obstacles – gaining 4 points.
The Tipperary family were the first to take on the second challenge called Raft Race, they set a time of 4 minute 34 seconds however the Peters beat their time with their total 4 minutes and 10 seconds.
The Byrnes were 1 point off automatic qualifying however they missing out to the Peters, which meant the local family went head to head with the Murray family in the eliminator.
The Byrnes took a massive lead in the eliminator as the Murrays struggled with the first obstacle.
The Murrays did make up ground however it wasn’t enough with the local family finishing the course first, getting through to the Quartar finals.
The Tipperary natives are the first family through for new coach Sonia O Sullivan.
