Minister Mary Butler with responsibility for Mental Health and Older People is to open an event focused on Youth Mental Health in Cahir next week. The event is organised by a local group that raised funds via Dawn Walk earlier this year co-ordinated by Independent Cllr Andy Moloney and Marie Egan from the Teen Youth Cave.

The event will also feature contributions from John Leahy, Drug Education Officer with the HSE, Senator Frances Black, personnel from the Garda Drug Unit and the HSE Regional Suicide Resource Office.

The event is jointly hosted by local company Oakpark, Cahir Youth and Cahir Meet and Train and features the theme “Shape your Mind to Shape your Future”.  The aim is to encourage people to speak openly and freely about mental health. The Cahir House Hotel is the venue for the event on November 9th beginning at 7.30pm.

Further information is available from Cllr Moloney (086 360 9110 ) or Ms Egan (085 119 7007).
