A Government Tipperary TD is criticising the lack of river maintenance in rural Ireland.
Fianna Fail’s Jackie Cahill comments come after major flooding particularly in East Cork and West Waterford.
Deputy Cahill is calling for the policy to be reviewed that’s preventing many rivers from being cleaned so that water courses can run more smoothly.
The Thurles based TD says some common sense steps to do the best work to prevent people’s property from being flooded and damaged beyond repair.
Deputy Cahill says the Office Public Works must publish a comprehensive plan to clear our rivers.
