Tipperary Innovation ENGINE Chairperson and Jobs4Tipp member Morgan Mooney is welcoming today’s announcement that Nephin Renewable Gas(NRG) is to establish it’s headquarters at the Rosanna Road facility in Tipperary town.  Mr. Mooney says the announcement is “a very good news story for the town.”

NRG is to roll out a series of anaerobic digesters across the country to convert waste into bio methane gas. The company is a subsidiary of Nephin Energy, Ireland’s largest domestic producer of natural gas. Nephin Energy holds a 43.5% interest in the Corrib Gas Field.

Mr. Mooney says Nephin Renewable Gas is exactly the type of business that the Tipperary Engine set out to bring to Tipperary when the refurbishment plans at the Tipperary Technology Park were devised.  Thanks are also due to the funders Enterprise Ireland and Tipperary County Council, the board and staff for the delivery of the state of the art facility according to Mr. Mooney.

It is envisaged that Nephin Renewable Gas will employ up to 70 people in their head office in Tipperary Town within an 18 to 24-month timeframe. The company has agreed a long-term lease of circa 4,100 sq. ft. of office space in Tipperary Technology Park which is managed by Tipperary Innovation Engine.

“The Management and staff of Tipperary Innovation Engine would like to take this opportunity to welcome all at Nephin Renewable Gas to both the Technology Park and to the Tipperary Town area and also to wish them every success in their business venture” concluded Mr. Mooney.
