All registration is to be completed on the website www.itsyourrace.com – with the registration fee going to support two charitable causes – Little Blue Heroes and Women’s Domestic Violence Supports.

An estimated 24 men are expected to take part in the event, which will start at 11am sharp, in fancy dress to add to the sense of fun. The Tipperary Women’s Mini Marathon over a 10Km distance did not remain on the calendar of the Tipperary Sports Partnership this year  – possibly due to budgetary issues.

Cllr Andy Moloney sought to keep the event on the athletic calendar for women and enlisted Cahir Meet and Train Group to assist and secured sponsorship for the event from local superstars The 2 Johnnies. Other local businesses and the family of the late Breda Marnane have also provided sponsorship for prizes in the various age categories – first five home and the first three finishers in the Over 35, O40, O50, O55, O60 years.   The event is chip timed and each finisher will be awarded a specially commissioned medal. Parking at Cahir Castle will be restricted so the advice to use parking space on the Cashel road, at Duneske near the GAA grounds and on the Ardfinnan road.

The public are also encouraged to come out and support the event and cheer on the participants – anyone available to act as steward is asked to contact Andy Moloney at 086 360 9110.
