Tipp Family Seeks Nursing Care For Their Son To Come Home

1634

A family in Tipperary is seeking to arrange nursing home care so that their son can come home from Temple Street hospital.

The 12-year-old boy, Alex Butler needs care from a Nurse with skills in a specialised role involving tracheostomy care.

The family are asking if any nurse is available to contact the agency involved by visiting the  agency website paediatriccommunitynursing.com at this link here.

Ideally the role will comprise both 10-hour night shifts from 10pm until 8am and 8-hour day shifts from 8am to 4pm with a competitive hourly rate available.

The agency is actively seeking both full-time and part-time Registered General Nurses for the role – complete training and ongoing support will be provided.

The boy’s parents, Michael and Maggie, say they are devastated to learn that a planned trip home for three nights beginning on Sept 12th can only happen if nursing cover is found.

The child has been in hospital for 5 months and the family wants to start with 3 nights a week at home building up to full time.

Temple St and TUH Clonmel hospitals have both been praised by the family for the support shown to date in providing training to the parents.
