Intending applicants for Grants under the 2023 Sports Capital and Equipment Programme must register by 5pm today, August 25th.
The application for the fund can be submitted up to 5pm on September 8th but applications will only be accepted from registered applicants.
Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath is seeking a one-month extension to the registration and application deadlines as he says volunteers are away, and professional services operate with limited capacity, obstructing the process for clubs to access the much-needed funding.
Grants are available to sports clubs, voluntary and community groups, national governing bodies of sport and local authorities. Third level colleges, VECs and schools may also apply for funding jointly with a sports club.
The Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) is operated by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and provides grants to assist in the development or refurbishment of sports facilities and the provision of sports equipment. It is part funded from the proceeds of the National Lottery.
