The Boil Water Notice issued for the Thurles Regional Water Scheme has been lifted today.
The scheme supplies the following areas – Holycross, Thurles, Ballycahill, Bouladuff, Dovea, Borrisoleigh and Drom and surrounding areas.
The notice was first issued on July 14th as the residual levels of chlorine in the treated water was lower than acceptable.
Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council say they wish to “thank everyone for their patience, co-operation and assistance during this Boil Water Notice and greatly regret any inconvenience caused to homes and businesses in the community.”
The Uisce Éireann Customer Contact Centre (1800 278 278) is available to answer customer queries in relation to the lifting of this water quality notice.
Uisce Eireann also lifted the Boil Before Use on the Galtee Regional Scheme today – however Boil Water Notices remain in effect on the Glenary, Burncourt/Ballylooby, Ardfinnan and Dundrum Public Water Schemes for now. Sampling of the water is ongoing and dependent on satisfactory water quality results Uisce Eireann will consult with the HSE to seek to have the remaining Boil before Use notices lifted.
