Pedestrian Injured In Thurles Collision Last Week Has Died

Gardaí have confirmed that the pedestrian injured in a road traffic collision in Thurles last week has died. The man is understood to have lived in the town and was aged in his early 80s.

The incident occurred as a HGV was entering Liberty Square from the O’Donovan Rossa Street at approximately 2.45pm. Following the incident the  injured pedestrian was taken to Limerick University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries. Gardaí say a post-mortem examination will now take place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between 2.30pm and 3.30pm to make this footage available to Gardaí.
