The Boil Water Notice issued for the Galtee Regional Scheme has been lifted today with immediate effect. Affected customers in the following areas can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth: Emly, Lattin, Ballinard, Cullen, Ballywire, Kilross, Limerick Junction, Monard, Lisvernane, Rossadrehid, Bansha, Tankerstown, Kilfeacle, Golden, Cashel, Rosegreen, New Inn and surrounding areas.
The Notice is lifted after consultation with the HSE – it had been in effect since July 27th.
The Uisce Éireann Customer Contact Centre (1800 278 278) is available to answer customer queries in relation to the lifting of this water quality notice.
Boil water notices remain in effect on a number of other Public Water Schemes in the county including the Dundrum scheme, the Thurles, the Ardfinnan, the Burncourt Ballylooby and Glenary Public water schemes.
Uisce Eireann says sampling across the schemes and at water treatment plants is required over an extensive period to ensure that any potential non-compliant water has passed through the networks. This sampling is now underway and dependent on satisfactory water quality results Uisce Eireann will consult with the HSE to seek to have the remaining Boil before Use notices lifted.
