Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath is lashing out at the ticket policy in place for the National Ploughing Championships in September. Attendees must purchase tickets in advance for the specific day they wish to attend. Children Under 12 are free but they must also have a ticket – booked in advance.
Deputy McGrath wants the event to sell tickets on the day of attendance for cash. The leader of the Rural Independents says people will be forced to book tickets in advance – when for work or weather reasons another day might be more suitable to attend.
The organisers say for safety reasons the need to manage numbers at the event resulting in the advance booking policy. Full details of the ticket policy are available on the website npa.ie
